TO MEMBERS AND FRIENDS OF THE NATIONAL SOCIETY MAGNA CHARTA DAMES AND BARONS, POTENTIAL MEMBERS AND THOSE WHO SHARE OUR INTEREST IN THE PRINCIPLES OF CONSTITUTIONAL LIBERTY
FROM LEWIS L. NEILSON JR., CHANCELLOR
DATE: JANUARY 12, 2003
We continue to increase our e-mail list. To those of you who are new to our list we welcome you to receive our Electronic Newsletter and hope that you will find our Society and our mission to be interesting. Since a primary mission of our Society is to develop awareness of Magna Charta we wish to expand the circulation of our Electronic Newsletter by increasing our e-mail address list particularly including those who are members of lineage societies and/or who might share our interest in the principles of Constitutional Liberty.
We encourage you to check our Website regularly for new developments and information. The link to the Newsletter on the Website is: http://www.magnacharta.org/enews12003.htm The link to the Website is: http://www.magnacharta.org. Please also refer to OUR E-MAIL LIST at the end of this Newsletter.
Please inform us of changes to your e-mail address.

Video on the Magna Charta Website from the July 3, 2002 Exhibit Opening
We have included video of the talks given at the Opening of the Magna Charta Exhibit on July 3, 2002 by Judge Edward Becker, Chief Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit, Donald Murphy, Deputy Director of the National Park Service and by Lord Goldsmith, Attorney General of the UK. These can be found using the page: http://www.magnacharta.org/2002MCOPEN.htm. We recommend Windows Media Player. The opening and closing by the Choir from England is low resolution with excellent audio. For the talks we have provided both low and medium resolution; while the audio sounds the same the medium resolution is much clearer but takes longer to watch; patience is necessary. The low resolution is much faster. The text of the talks can be found using our August Newsletter.
For the past ten years I have video taped many of the meetings of our Society as well as our Educational Tours. I am now in the process of converting over 100 analog tapes to digital format. In addition to preserving the information it should be relatively easy to provide streaming video accessible through our Website. The video from the Exhibit Opening is just the beginning and streaming video should dramatically improve with emerging technology. I believe that this medium will be an excellent way to enhance our Educational Mission. In addition, I encourage members of our Divisions, Chapters and Colonies to video presentations at their meetings.
